Garrett Giemont
TITLE Conditioning Coordinator

Coaching Highlights:

Garrett Giemont is in his second season as conditioning coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers after being hired on Jan. 31, 2007.

Giemont, 50, has 26 years of experience in the NFL and was most recently with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their strength and conditioning coordinator. He was with the Buccaneers from 2003-05.

Giemont was named Coach of the Year by The Professional Football Strength and Conditioning Coaches Society after the 2002 season while working for the Oakland Raiders under head coach Bill Callahan. Giemont spent eight seasons as a member of the Raiders, including the first seven as strength and conditioning coach and the final season as strength and conditioning coordinator.

Prior to joining the Raiders, Giemont spent three seasons as the Director of Physical Development in Major League Baseball with the Chicago Cubs (1992-94). He originally entered the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams in 1970 as a training assistant and served as the Rams’ assistant trainer from 1978-82. From 1983-89, Giemont was the Rams’ strength and conditioning trainer and worked as the team’s strength and conditioning coach from 1990-91.

Giemont and his wife Sonya have one son, Jackson (2).
