Heinz Field Security Guidelines:
The following are the security guidelines for all events
at Heinz Field, including Steelers and University of Pittsburgh football games.
Because of these measures, it is recommended that anyone attending the
games-fans and media-arrive earlier to help alleviate any delays that these
safety procedures may create at the gates.
All Guests entering Heinz Field will be subject to a
visual search by Heinz Field security personnel prior to entering the gates. Guests who wear or
bring heavy clothing, blankets and jackets will be asked to open up such
items for inspection. The pat downs are now in effect because of cold weather
approaching.
In addition to security pat downs, guests are prohibited from bringing the
following into Heinz Field…
- Coolers - Hard or soft sided
- Bags
- Thermoses
- Strollers
- Back packs
- Large purses - Larger than a 8 ˝ x 11 sheet of paper
- Glass bottles (sealed plastic bottles, 20 oz. or
less, permitted)
- Cans
- Alcoholic beverages
- Laser pointers
- Video/movie cameras
- Tripods
- Audio recording equipment
- Banners/signs on poles
- Weapons
- Any other item deemed dangerous and/or inappropriate.
Small purses, small camera cases and binocular cases and diaper bags will be
permitted, however they are subject to inspection. Diaper bags are permitted
only when an infant or small child attends.
All items that do not pass security must be returned to vehicles.
Heinz Field is NOT responsible for items left at the gates.
